About Accessibility at SPARC BC
"We shape our buildings, then our buildings shape us." -Winston Churchill
Accessible communities support the independence, comfort, self-esteem, and security of all their citizens, especially those with disabilities.
SPARC BC has worked on accessibility issues since 1969. We work to remove barriers to inclusion through publishing important research, leading public education campaigns, partnering with community groups, working with municipalities, and with our Parking Permit Program for People with Disabilities.
Accessible communities make a real difference in the lives of people with disabilities; it is not just about physical access and technical devices - access is about equal opportunity.
